Hello, I'm Vijayata Gulati, and my journey to discovering my ikigai has been an exciting and transformative experience. As an Electronics and Communication Engineer, I spent years immersed in the world of technology and innovation. While I enjoyed my work, I always felt a pull towards something more creative and fulfilling.
From a young age, I was fascinated by the vibrant world of art and craft. The joy of creating something beautiful with my hands, the satisfaction of seeing a project come to life, and the endless possibilities of artistic expressions captivated me. Despite my technical background, I found myself constantly drawn to this creative outlet.
It wasn't until I started dedicating more time to art and craft that I realized this was my true passion. Whether it's painting, sculpting, or crafting intricate designs, I find immense joy and peace in these activities. The process of making and giving away handmade cards to family and friends on different occasions since I was in class 5, creating art and craft work for my home decor to finally experimenting with different mediums and techniques of colouring by combining them had been a turning point which helped me decide my perspective and vision of my life.
It's a passion that I follow in my sleep and dreams, a source of endless inspiration and fulfilment.
Finding my ikigai in art and craft has not only enriched my life but also taught me valuable lessons about following one's heart. It's a reminder that our true calling may lie outside our professional training or societal expectations. Embracing this passion has brought a new sense of purpose and happiness to my life.
In conclusion, my journey from an engineer to an artist has been a testament to the power of following one's heart. Art has become an integral part of my life, a passion that I cherish and nurture every day.
Today, as a teacher, I hope to inspire my students to find their ikigai as well. I want them to explore their interests, follow their passions as well, and discover what truly makes them happy. Whether it's in the world of art, sciences, or any other field, I believe that finding one's ikigai is the key to a fulfilling and meaningful life.
