Don’t expect everything to work out the first time; realise that we take time to learn and do well and that is exactly when we become KNOWLEDGEABLE!
It is not that difficult. Just ask yourself 'WHAT, WHY, WHEN and most importantly How? It's not necessary at all to head for a big part of the chapter in one go. Do you typically approach a chapter from many perspectives or do you opt for the same solution that worked in the past?
In our experience with overcoming obstacles, all must have faced challenges that sum up to an insurmountable scenario; a science which is impossible and impractical to solve. Let’s say, for example, a numerical of some chapter. One needs to basically learn to have new perspectives and different methods to solve a problem before you actually conclude. A child may feel that this subject is difficult or may be its going over the head. The best way to get to any subject is to run after the CONCEPT! The perspective is basically how you approach a problem. Never run after a solution, in fact try and chase the logic and its fundamental root.
Don’t make it complex.
How to approach takes patience. In other words DON’T PANIC!
To understand a problem, ask questions and, that too repetitively. Trust me when I say this, the way things must have worked according to the past may not work for you in the future. Or may be, never again.
Try and DEFINE your problem until understanding comes.
Eventually, today's problem is that students are too well versed with information but not with concepts. Try and find out ways to reach out to your hurdles and when we, as teachers reach out to every student with a new approach each time; it is the essence of being a good teacher.
