On the occasion of Martyrs' Day, the students of Gurukul Global School were administered the Pledge of Cleanliness by Sh. N. Jayasankar ji, The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Chandigarh. He was also accompanied by Dr. Tarundeep Kaur, Additional Commissioner Income Tax , Chandigarh.
The Cleanliness Pledge was administered in a special function, which was presided over by the School Managing Director Sh.Parveen Setya. The function was organised to commemorate the death anniversary of The Father of Nation- Mahatma Gandhi, whose ideals of Cleanliness are something we all should strive to live up to. To enliven the spirit of Gandhiji's ideals, the school choir presented a beautiful song celebrating the values of 'swachta' and 'patriotism'. The Principal Ms. Urvashi Kakkar welcomed the special guests and the dignitaries and later addressed the students highlighting the need to keep our homes, neighborhoods, city, and nation clean and most importantly the need to cleanse our minds of narrow minded and orthodox thoughts. She quoted the lines of Mahatma Gandhi 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness'.
Before the culmination of the event, the guests were presented tokens of gratitude and regard by the School Managing Director.
