A dynamic workshop on *Mastering the Art of Storytelling and Narration* was conducted in the School Auditorium of Gurukul Global School for the teachers. The session was led by our Theatre Instructor and Production & Broadcast Studio Manager, Mr. Gaurav Anand. The workshop began with a short story narrated by Mr. Gaurav himself. It was performed under dimmed lights to intentionally create a spooky and engaging atmosphere. Through this the teachers experienced first hand how powerful storytelling can be when it comes to truly connecting with students. Mr. Gaurav explained the difference between narration and storytelling with the impactful thought: “Narration informs… but storytelling transforms.” He supported this with multiple relatable examples. He also shared his personal experiences and the creative tools he uses to elevate his storytelling. Tools that help him build stronger, more meaningful connections with the students. Mr. Gaurav highlighted how in today’s world, the most creative and common form of storytelling is seen in *reels and advertisements* where one must convey a complete story in just a few seconds. To make the workshop more interactive, he gave the teachers an activity:
Create a short advertisement for a fictional product - ‘Panchmola’.
Kindergarten teachers Ms. Aanchal, Ms. Shilpa and Ms. Aarti performed exceptionally well bringing creativity and humour to the task.
The workshop turned out to be a fun, enriching and inspiring experience for all the teachers leaving them with fresh insights and renewed energy to bring storytelling alive in their classrooms.
