Teaching Methodology Class VI-VIII

Teachers at the Middle-level act as facilitators, mentors, and guides; coaxing the students to develop an inquiry-based bend of mind.

Technology Driven Classes

Smartboards used exhaustively across all classes provide the right digital support to the teachers for delivering the lessons. PPTs, Instructional Software, digital books are the technological aids that enable the teachers to indulge in the effective delivery of the lectures.

Interactive Lessons

Teachers not merely deliver the lessons, but keenly involve the students in meaningful interactions and discussions fostering the development of skills like independent thinking, decision making, critical analysis, logical thinking, to name just a few.  

Inquiry-based Instructions

Students are given ample opportunities to brainstorm and develop reasoning and research-based attitude to foster the stimulation of their minds. 

Mindmaps and Timelines

Mindmaps and timelines are developed for every chapter in order to provide a bird’s eye view of all concepts to the student at a single glance.  

Child Centric Activity-based approach

Keeping the child at the core; activities are ingrained into the curriculum of every chapter so that the students learn in an interesting manner by doing things on their own.  

Respect for individual Strengths and Weaknesses

Art Integrated Learning

Art Integrated Learning (AIL) is followed which is based on learning through art. It is a process where art becomes the medium of teaching-learning, a key to understanding concepts within any subject of the curriculum. This enhances the creativity of a child.

Flip Classrooms

Flipped classroom a type of blended learning where students are introduced to content at home and practice working through it at school. This is to inculcate the practice of self-learning.

Peer Learning and Peer Assessment

Conducting group activities within the class not only creates a spirit of cooperation but also helps the teachers in using the ‘Peer teaching’ in a very positive way. Peer assessment and self-assessment are also practiced.

Field Trips

To expose the students to the practical aspects of the concepts taught in the class, students are taken on field trips every month.

Role Play

Literature Content is effectively delivered by means of role-playing.  

Holistic Personality Development

Hobby Clubs, Sports Clubs, Social Action Programs, participation in various Inter-House and Inter-School Competitions gives an excellent platform to students to develop a well-rounded personality.  

Artificial Intelligence

Modules on Artificial intelligence are introduced in Class VIII.

External Examination

Various External Exams like Olympiads, NSTSEs, ASSET, Live Olympiad, etc are conducted from time to time in order to map the students’ performance at the National Level.

Scholastic Aids

In order to complement the teaching–learning process, projects like ‘Mindspark’, are a part of the curriculum.

The role of Academic and BehavioralCounselors assumes great importance as they extend the requisite support to the students, in every area.

FAQ's

We have two counselors in the school i.e. behavioral and academic counseling who regularly conduct the Sessions as per the requirement of the students.

Transport is an optional facility provided to the students. The school is not bound to provide it to all students. It is available on scheduled routes as per availability of seats in the buses.

The school has its own website www.gurukulglobalschool.co.inand the School App (Cyber School Manager). Parents can easily access the CSM and check the attendance, homework, worksheets, reports etc of their wards.

We have Hobby Clubs, Sports Club, Social Action Programmes, Maths and English Skill Enhancement Program for the holistic development of the students. CBSE, from time to time also sends notifications of theme based projects for students to participate in.

We have well qualified, experienced and educated teachers. The hiring process involves entrance test taken by the teachers. As per their result, the teacher has togive a demo to the Head, Coordinator and the HOD. If selected she/he may then be called for an interview by the Principal and the Management.

The Academic year for classes VI to VIII shall comprise of two terms, viz. April to September and October to March. Each term shall have one Unit Exam and one Term Exam which includes pen-paper tests, Internal Assessments -practicals, assignments and activities.

At the time of admission along with the admission fee, first quarter fee is also charged. Fee for the remaining three quarters is payable as follows:

  • Second Quarter – by 7th July
  • Third Quarter - by 7th October
  • Fourth Quarter - by 7th January

Selection of students is based on age criteria, Entrance test, and previous school result.
