ACTIVITY CLUBS

Activity clubs give students a platform, where they can discover and add new dimensions to their personality. Renowned professionals help every student perform to realize their potential, in turn building confidence and self esteem in them . Students can opt for any hobby club according to their interest, disposition and aptitude. The wide spectrum of activities allows every child to find his niche where he can bloom and glow to his full potential.

CLASSICAL / WESTERN DANCE

Western dance teaches coordination and rhythm. Kids will learn to keep time with the music while moving their feet! It is a fun, high-energy activity that kids love! Dance is important for the growth and joyous expression of children. Indian Classical Dance and Music is an integral part of the school-activities. This Art is not only the quintessence of Sweetness, Beauty and Power of our eternal Culture, but it is also a prayer, attracting divine Blessings, happiness and peace of mind. The Hobby Clubs have been introduced with an endeavor to provide meaningful leisure activities which will add on to the students personalities, through revealing their talents.

QUIZZING CLUB

The Club awakens the student’s natural curiosity and shows them the way to quench their thirst for knowledge.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CLUB

This Club grooms the personality of each child along with imparting training in social etiquettes. Bringing out the positive aspects in the children their personality is polished so that they can take on the world with confidence.

BUDDING ARTISTS’ CLUB

Budding Picasso’s have their tryst with the canvas and brush and student’s artistic potential is revealed through the myriad activities in this club.

YOUNG SPEAKERS CLUB

In a world where communication skill has become supreme, this club empowers the students by increasing their proficiency in the language and by improving their oratorical skills.

SCIENTIST CLUB

Societal Commitments To instill a spirit of service it is necessary that children imbibe the value of compassion. The school adopted 400 underprivileged children of GMHS- 26, Chandigarh. Lending a helping hand is one of the first steps to sensitizing the tender minds of our students. Gurukul Global will provide curricular support to children studying under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Our children learnt the joy of sharing by contributing gifts and celebrating festivals with their brothers and sisters.

GURUKUL GLOBAL’S INITIATIVE TO HEAL THE WORLD.

‘Eco Club, Health Club and Peace Club’ is an effort by Gurukul Global School towards combating degradation and damage done to the Health, Peace and Environment by human beings. ‘Orchid’ An Eco Club is registered with Environmental Department, Chandigarh, aims to create awareness among the school children who are the future safe guards of the society & environment and also works to educate the masses. Various activities like tree plantation, ‘Say no to Polythene’, Bird Watching etc. have been conducted in school to save mother Earth. ‘Health Club’ organises monthly Medical checkups, conducts Seminars by Eminent Doctors and holds training workshops for teachers to facilitate health programs in school. Various health activities like Nutrition Week, Dental Health Awareness Program, Seminars on Swine-flu, Childhood Asthma etc. are organized every month to promote good health in school A health card in maintained for every child which keeps the complete record of checkups done through out the year. ‘Peace Club’ addresses the noble cause of healing the world. It is formed to counter the growing violence, fear and hatred in society. If we have to create peace in the world we must begin with children. The Peace Club organizes peace rallies, seminars to cultivate compassion, understanding love and social responsibility in students. ‘We must be the change we wish to see in world’, so in an environment of general decline of values and its accompanying ills the students are taught to lead a life based on truth, love and Non-Violence to achieve true happiness and peace on Earth.

SPORTS

Sports are not only essential but also indispensable for an all-round development of the children. Besides promoting health, sports strengthen the students power of endurance and develop in them a spirit of co-operation and brotherhood. They promote discipline, sense of fair play and team spirit. Students are trained to accept defeat with a smile and preserve humility even in victory.. They fill the students with new vigour, vitality and enthusiasm, which help them to concentrate more on their studies. The school boasts of a vast play area with well equipped infrastructure of international level. Our budding sportspersons can be seen enjoying a game of Lawn tennis on the school clay courts and the two mini courts. The Skating rink resounds with the joyous shouts of the beginners who have just discovered the thrill of skating! Cheerful camaraderie is to be seen at the Basket ball court. Fitness lovers can go in for Aerobics classes. Students develop their self defence skills by learning Wushu. For those who prefer to play indoors Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess are there to chose from.

HAWANS

A collective Hawan ceremony is performed every month for the students whose birthday falls in that month, wherein the offerings of various herbs are made to the Holy fire midst chanting of ‘Mantras’ or Holy Verses. These offerings not only purify the environment but also spread positivity. The Hawan at Gurukul Global is performed to pray for the long life and well being of the students.

FIELD TRIPS

We understand that a purely academic endevour would not suffice to prepare our young learners for life’s challenges. To augment classroom studies field trips are conducted every month for all the classes. It’s a best way of acquiring first hand information and it leaves a deep impression and greater understanding in students. They were able to visualize and experience what they learnt in the confines of the classrooms. Field trips being an integral part of curriculum are the best way to widen the horizons of the child’s mind.
